Chef Will Hughes has been experimenting in the kitchen since the age of ten. When he decided to make a career of the culinary arts, he attended and graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI, spending a summer working in Cape Cod and an internship at the Rhode Island Convention Center. After five years as a sous chef and executive chef in New Orleans, Chef Will and his family made the move to Daphne, AL to open Will Hughes Catering and Market. The Will Hughes Catering and Market team won numerous awards and accolades. Chef Hughes was featured in Mobile Bay Monthly, Southern Living Magazine, Paula Deen Magazine and several "Southern Cookbooks" for his world famous "Moonpie Bread Pudding." He has also had the opportunity to work along side some familiar faces in the culinary industry ...including Chef Nancy S.Hughes, Chef John Folse, Martie Duncan, Chef Rick Tramanto, and Chef Andrew Zimmern. The market was a vibrant part of Olde Towne Daphne for seven years, when Will decided to take a hiatus from that part of the business and took a job as a chef/instructor in a culinary program. Two and a half years of teaching allowed him to hone his communication and culinary skills and experiment with different foods from around the world.
Chef Will Hughes' next chapter is an exciting one. For the past year, he's been working as a private chef, caterer, and recipe developer serving clients from the mountains of North Carolina to the south Florida coast, from vacation homes in Vail, CO to elegant southern brunches on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay.
